Spring Transition: Adapting Your Skincare Routine for the Season

Published on · 5 min read

## Why does skin react to season changes? With spring's return, air humidity increases, temperatures fluctuate, and UV exposure intensifies. Skin accustomed to winter's rich formulas can suddenly become oily in the T-zone and dry on the cheeks — the most common combo in March-April. ## Lighten your textures Replace thick winter creams with gel-creams or light emulsions. Skin needs hydration but not occlusion. Rice water or cucumber extract-based formulas work perfectly for this transition. ## Reintroduce exfoliation Winter encourages less exfoliation to avoid weakening the skin barrier. In spring, it's time to restart cell renewal with a gentle AHA exfoliant (lactic acid, mandelic acid) 1-2 times per week. Result: luminous complexion and better active absorption. ## Strengthen sun protection Spring sun is deceptive: UV rays are more intense than in winter, but the lower heat sensation makes us forget protection. Switch to a lightweight SPF 50+, ideally a Korean "water-light" formula that leaves no greasy film. ## Spring ingredients - **Niacinamide**: to regulate sebum that increases with rising temperatures - **Azelaic acid**: to even out skin tone after winter redness - **Vitamin C**: to boost radiance and activate antioxidant protection - **Fermented rice water**: to balance and illuminate ## The golden rule At Lumi-K, we recommend changing your routine gradually over 2 weeks. Alternate one day with your old formula, one day with the new one, to let your skin adapt without stress.
